A little about Big Beaks!

Hi, My name is Chris Hembree, and I am the owner and creator of Big Beaks Bird Toys. I have owned parrots, large and small, for over 15 years. Over the years I have bought a LOT of bird toys, and few of them were exciting, and stimulating toys for birds. They were either acrylic to where the bird cannot enjoy themselves by their natural instinct to chew, or they were cheap made and only lasted a day or two at the most. So for years I have made my own birds their toys. Then the toys started looking better, and my birds started enjoying them more as time went on, so I decided to sell some of my creations. And that's how Big Beaks got started. I have five personal pets that I call my toy testers. If it doesn't pass their test, I don't sell it. I have two Congo African Greys named Smokey and Bandit, two Yellow Naped Amazons named Uno and Dosita, a goffin's cockatoo named Bogie, a Moluccan cockatoo named Peaches,  a lutino cockatiel named Scooter, and a very large Greenwing Macaw named Denali. Needless to say, Denali is a very good toy tester.

Most companies that manufacture bird toys also have birds of their own. This use to bother me when I would purchase my toys from other people because of the fear of spreading avian diseases. When you purchase a toy from Big Beaks, you can rest assured it's safe! The reason is, my birds are vaccinated yearly for Polyoma,  and have regular vet exams and check-ups!
